2. Evaluation of Relation between Rainfall and El Nino Phenomena in Iran

Author(s):
M.H. GHOLIZADEH
Abstract:  In this study El Nino effects on rainfall in Iran is evaluated. Annual rainfall data of the selected rain gauging stations for the years when El Nino phenomenon has taken place (1973-2012), have been picked up. Next, annual rainfall of the years with and without El Nino phenomenon were compared and then analyzed (correlation is significant at the 0.01 level). Finally, percentage-frequency of the rainfalls influenced by warm Enso condition was obtained. Regarding that El Nino has different affect on rainfall under different regions of the world, the results approved that El Nino, increases rainfall across Iran plateau as annual rainfall is increased from south to north. While less increasing of rainfall is seen for coastal area. Results showed that El Nino causes increasing of annual rainfall in Iran.
3. The Punjabi Sikh Community in Kuching: Assimilation or Enculturation?

Abstract: This study was conducted using a mixed research method including quantitative and qualitative data collection to investigate the cultural and linguistic practices of the Punjabi Sikhs in Kuching, Sarawak in East Malaysia. It was aimed to determine whether the community had integrated with the majority community/communities in Kuching and to what extend it has preserved its ethnic identity. Data were collected on the Punjabis’ use of language in the domains of family, workplace, and entertainment. Other social factors like eating habits, dressing, celebration of festivals, marriage preference, religious practices and self-identity were also examined. It was identified that the minority community of the Punjabi Sikhs in Kuching, Sarawak has a tendency towards maintaining a strong cultural vitality and uniqueness. The community shows a high degree of assimilating towards the use of English language, although they appear to be maintaining their core Punjabi cultural traits and practices. Kuching Punjabis may have lost a vital segment of their cultural enrichment in the form of language but they crucially hold positive perceptions about their ethno-cultural and ethno-linguistic identity. Thus contradicting the traditional cultural studies, which incline that not maintaining the language, can lead to losing the other aspects of culture.
4. DESIGN OF AN EFFICIENT METHOD FOR MULTIRESOLUTION WATERMARKING ALGORITHM TO IMPROVE THE ROBUSTNESS

Abstract: Now-a-days watermarking plays a pivotal role in most of the industries for providing security to their own as well as hired or leased data. This paper its main aim is to study the multiresolution watermarking algorithms and also choosing the effective and efficient one for improving the resistance in data compression. Computational savings from such a multiresolution watermarking framework is obvious. The multiresolutional property makes our watermarking scheme robust to image/video down sampling operation by a power of two in either space or time. There is no common framework for multiresolutional digital watermarking of both images and video. A multiresolution watermarking based on the wavelet transformation is selected in each frequency band of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) domain and therefore it can resist the destruction of image processing.The rapid development of Internet introduces a new set of challenging problems regarding security. One of the most significant problems is to prevent unauthorized copying of digital production from distribution. Digital watermarking has provided a powerful way to claim intellectual protection. We proposed an idea for enhancing the robustness of extracted watermarks. Watermark can be treated as a transmitted signal, while the destruction from attackers is regarded as a noisy distortion in channel. For the implementation, we have used minimum nine coordinate positions. The watermarking algorithms to be taken for this study are Corvi algorithm and Wang algorithm. In all graph, we have plotted X axis as peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and y axis as Correlation with original watermark. The threshold value ? is set to 5. The result is smaller than the threshold value then it is feasible, otherwise it is not.

Abstract: With the growth of Internet, websites have become a dynamic tool in the market for every business to both acquire and service their customers. Online presence through websites has given them a global and wider reach. Good design and well management are the two key aspects of the effective website to catch the attention of visitors. Nowadays, the analysis and behavior of website visitors can be used to convert them into customers and serve them in a better way. This can be carried out on the weblogs which are generated as a result of user’s access to a website. This paper aims to study the log files of an astrological website. An astrological website has not gained much attention in the internet community as people prefer going to the astrologers in person to resolve their problems. The log files of an astrology website were taken, preprocessed and analyzed using Analyze Key Influencers technique a feature of Microsoft SQL Server Data Mining Add-ins for Microsoft Office 2007. The information obtained can be used to enhance the effectiveness of the website.
6. ANALYSIS OF THE ACQUISITION OF MODEL GROUP BY AB InBev

Author(s):
JOSÉ G. VARGAS-HERNÁNDEZ

Abstract: This paper describes the most important acquisition of the Mexican economy in financial terms, which was concrete in 2013, in which the target was the leading Mexican brewer Grupo Modelo and the buyer the world leader in this sector Ab InBev. The acquisition has brought changes that directly affect the dynamics of the industry in Mexico. This situation favored microbrewers and craft beer segment in the country. The results presented by the company were analyzed to make a comparative analysis of the effects of the transaction on the company, which have been mainly mergers and sales of other economic units belonging to corporate.
